At the beginning of Fall 2016, I had the opportunity to work closely with Matt Schlicht, Ben Parr, and Leif K-Brooks to help create a digital product that allows anyone to build a chatbot from scratch. Their vision was to create a product that made the chatbot creation process a more automated and connected messaging platform.
For two months I worked full-time with Alex Cagwin (lead product designer) and Danielle Hadley (UX designer) to create a brand and UI system that coalesced with their interaction and product design. The end goal was to create an experience that simplifies the complex nature of chatbots.
As art director, my duties and deliverables included: full brand guidelines (logo, illustrations, iconography, colors, typography, etc), comprehensive style guide for development, and a fully responsive high-fidelity prototype for desktop, tablet, and mobile. I worked closely with Ben Parr to create marketing materials such as stationary, collateral, company swag, and a marketing website (coded by Alex).
Octane AI had a successful private launch 2 months later with industry leading publishers joining the platform and a series A raise. The platform has gotten great press, and has been featured on New York Times, TechCrunch, Bloomberg, and VentureBeat.
